A letter from home

A letter from home
(part of private collection).

They often speak about childhood. They recall their time as orphans. Like young reindeers, they were separated from their mothers. They were sent to schools, including boarding schools. And there another life began, an alien one, with alien laws. Time flies by, they are adults already, but they are still seeking sympathy from new friends and acquaintances, and, by force of their childish habit, from alien people.

A letter from home. What is it about? It tells how the last snow is melting at the beginning of June; how the river comes into its force; how the tundra bursts into blossom. Mother imagines I’m a little girl with a beautiful and happy fate.
